What Does Lens Size (mm) Mean in a CCTV Camera?

Lens size, such as 2.8mm, 5mm, 12mm, or 50mm, determines how wide or zoomed-in the camera image will appear.

Simple rule:
Smaller numbers provide a wider field of view.
Larger numbers provide more zoom and detail at longer distances.

What We Need From You

To ensure a smooth and hassle-free installation, please review the following before our team arrives:

Roof Cavity Access

Our installers require access to the internal roof cavity to run the camera cables.

If your property does not have a roof cavity, such as a flat roof or solid-wall construction, conduit may be required to protect and route the Ethernet cables.

A $180 surcharge per camera may apply to cover additional materials and installation time.

If you believe your property has a flat roof, our team will assess it during installation or during a prior site visit. Depending on the assessment, the final cost may vary.

Modem Location

Please ensure your internet modem is accessible on the same floor as the CCTV installation.

If this isn’t possible, we can provide a TP-Link bridge ($80) to connect your system wirelessly.

Once your order is placed, our team will contact you within one business day to schedule a convenient installation time.

Typical lead time: 1–3 business days.
